Witchcraft in Liberia

a new project I just finished for save the children is featured on the telegraph site today. the work includes a series of illustrations and an animation about a liberian boy who was a victim of belief related abuse. a tricky project in places - i had about 2 weeks to do this, and had to avoid any direct visual references to torture, and i wasn't allowed to mention the involvement of the church, which is where most of the bad stuff actually took place - the 'lady who lived out of town' is actually a pastor. There are a couple of versions of the animation, this one features a voiceover by Dele Sosimi and is by far my favourite of the two. The animation also features clips from an interview with the boy.

Press awards & Bloomberg Markets

Well, after nearly 3 months of living out of cardboard boxes and suitcases, and more than a year of living in transition, I've finally moved into a new house. Renting in London is tough, but buying a home in London has to be one of the most stressful and ridiculous things I've ever gone through. If I never see another fucking estate agent for as long as I live, it'll be too soon.

Meanwhile, stuff has been going on, so here are a couple of new things. First off, I'm pleased to say the Save the children project has been shortlisted for a digital innovation award at the British Press Awards, for the mobile feature in the telegraph. big thanks to the telegraph, save the children, the staff at civico zero and everyone else involved.

Also, here's something new for Bloomberg Markets, a double page spread and some animation for a piece about the current state of anxiety in european banking.

Also, a vole in a french horn, for stewart lee in the observer sometime a few weeks ago.
